Our Story
Flag Hero was born out of frustration and a deep sense of pride. Ronald Sklaris, a proud 20-year Navy veteran, was tired of struggling with the ropes and cleats of traditional flagpoles every time he raised or lowered the flag. Determined to make it easier, Ron developed Flag Hero, a patented solution to simplify the process.
It didn’t stop there. After perfecting the design, he shared it with his neighbors in his cul-de-sac, installing the accessory on their flagpoles. The response was overwhelming—they loved it! That’s when Ron knew he had created something special, not just for himself but for anyone who values the flag and the pride it represents.
Ron’s connection to the flag runs deep. During his time in the Navy, Ron worked on raising and lowering flags aboard ships, a duty that symbolized honor and respect. His experiences instilled in him a passion for the flag as a powerful emblem of freedom, unity, and service.

After more than a year of development, Flag Hero’s patented design was perfected to make flag raising effortless and accessible for everyone. While the journey was challenging—especially navigating the patent process and perfecting the design—it was driven by Ron’s unwavering dedication to delivering a quality product.

We are equally proud to give back. A portion of Flag Hero’s proceeds supports Heroes in the Rough, a veterans’ organization that helps our nation’s heroes through outdoor recreation and rehabilitation.

Ron and his wife, Tamara, live in Henderson, where they continue to share their passion for patriotism and community.
